Jasimen Phillips

Jasimen Phillips (b. 1986, Los Angeles, CA) is a Los Angeles–based contemporary artist working in Afrofuturist figurative portraiture, exploring the evolving relationship between humanity and technology through themes of identity, power, and transformation. She studied at University of California, Los Angeles and has exhibited at institutions including the Torrance Art Museum and the Santa Paula Art Museum, while also delivering invited talks at Loyola Marymount University and California State University, Dominguez Hills on topics such as Cultivated Creativity in the Age of Technology and Digitial Mindfulness for Creatives; drawing on historical portrait traditions, Afrofuturist aesthetics, and contemporary visual culture, her work creates immersive, high-impact compositions that invite viewers to reconsider the human condition in a rapidly changing technological world.
